These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Watch Keeper mobile application ("App") provided by the developer ("we", "us", or "our").

By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the App.

1. Description of Service

   Watch Keeper is a tool designed to assist with managing watch schedules, local alarms, optional schedule sharing, and related trip coordination features. It is provided for informational and convenience purposes only and is not a safety-critical system.

2. No Reliance / Safety Disclaimer

   The App must not be relied upon as a primary means of ensuring watchkeeping, navigation, or vessel safety. You are solely responsible for maintaining proper watchkeeping practices and ensuring the safety of your vessel and crew.

3. No Warranty

   The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or reliable.

4. Limitation of Liability

   To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any damages, including but not limited to direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including personal injury, loss of life, property damage, or financial loss arising from the use of, or inability to use, the App.

5. User Responsibilities

   You agree to:

   • Use the App only for its intended purpose.
   • Maintain independent watchkeeping procedures at all times.
   • Not rely solely on the App for safety-critical decisions.
   • Use care when sharing schedule data with other devices or crew.
   • Review and manage device permissions such as notifications, location, and camera access as needed.

6. Prohibited Use

   You may not:

   • Use the App in a manner that endangers safety.
   • Reverse engineer, modify, or attempt to extract source code.
   • Use the App for unlawful purposes.

7. Modifications

   We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the App, or any part of it, at any time without notice.

8. Termination

   We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time if you violate these Terms.

9. Governing Law

   These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Finland, without regard to conflict of law principles.

10. Changes to Terms

    We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
